Dayton SCORE, with the generous support of The Dayton Foundation and others, is pleased to announce an initiative whose purpose is to help local, smaller non-profit organizations improve their performance and build their capacity to serve effectively. The initiative has three parts.
The first is an Organizational Assessment tool, a survey that your management and your Board will work with you to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses within your organization so that action can be taken, or assistance sought, to improve the organization’s health. The tool deals with eight areas:
Financial Activities |
Fundraising |
Planning |
Human Resources |
Volunteer Management |
Board of Directors |
Legal Activities |
Marketing Activities |
The second part is a series of five two-hour workshops on topics that our research has shown to be of critical importance to non-profits:
Strategic Planning |
Fundraising |
Financial Management |
Marketing |
Board Development |
|
The workshops will be conducted every other Thursday starting September 19, but the last workshop which will be Tuesday November 12th, all at the Presidential Banquet Center, Kettering, Ohio. Registration announcements will be sent three weeks in advance of each workshop to local non-profit organizations registered with Dayton SCORE.
The third part is our willingness and desire to provide free, face-to-face counseling and mentoring with an experienced Dayton SCORE counselor on whatever topics you desire.
The Organizational Assessment tool is available to you now upon your request. Your management and Board can use it at their convenience, and should you want help with it, we will be glad to work with you. If you would like to receive this tool, click here, and you will be taken to a form where you can register your contact information and download and print the tool.
We are open for business now for any counseling and mentoring you may seek. Please call the Dayton SCORE office, and mention that you are responding to our Non-Profit Initiative, to arrange for a counseling appointment.
