Our annual Fiesta was a huge success, an evening of reflection and recognition. We celebrated our accomplishments, as we are proud to see much growth and positive change in our chamber. The 176 guests enjoyed marvelous food, energizing music and most importantly, the company of our fellow members and guests. The entertainment included native Argentine Tango dancers Patricia Paz & Todd Coalcine (with amazing dance moves), and Karen Labra, an amazing young singer from Youngstown (originally from Mexico), who had us all enthralled with her beautiful voice.
New DHC leadership for 2012 introduced:
- Executive Board: John Palewski, our new President, Robert Salinas, our new Vice President, and Angie Anderson, our current and new Treasurer
- Board of Directors: Lisa Smith, Allen Begley, Jack Archibold and Tony Ortiz
- Action Team Leads were also introduced, and all were given their “wings” for next year.
Comments from Rafi Rodriguez, DHC President for the past three years, brought the attendees to their feet, as Rafi spoke from the heart about the accomplishments of the Chamber and the teamwork required to accomplish all these feats. Rafi will be missed as the DHC leader, but we know he will continue to contribute as a member and advisor.
The Silent Auction, a new addition to the Fiesta, was a tremendous success. Benefiting the DHC Scholarship Fund, the auction raised over $2000. Many thanks for the donations from our members and member companies.
Coordinating this event took significant time and energy, and thanks to all involved. Special thanks go to Yvonne Wathen, Lourdes Cordoves, Darci Salinas, the Hilton Garden Inn staff and our great A Team.
Bottom line it was a BLAST !!!
