The Human Services Transportation Coordination Plan is a coordinated strategy to address the needs of transportation-disadvantaged individuals in Greene, Miami, Montgomery and northern Warren Counties. Those considered transportation disadvantaged include senior citizens, people with disabilities and low-income individuals. The plan is updated every four (4) years in conjunction with the update of the Long Range Transportation Plan, which is also developed by MVRPC. This is the first update of the Human Services Transportation Coordination Plan since it was adopted in 2008.

The update will include a review of the progress made since the original plan was adopted, as well as outline the priorities for the next four-year period. MVRPC staff will be on hand to review the updated plan and answer questions. This is an opportunity for the general public to have a say in the future of “specialized transportation” in the Miami Valley. MVRPC staff will present background information on existing transportation conditions for the target populations and the transportation priorities which have been established.

If you are unable to attend, information on the update of the Human Services Transportation Coordination Plan will also be available for public review on MVRPC’s website at http://www.mvrpc.org/transportation/hstc on or before Monday, February 13, 2012, and at the MVRPC offices, One South Main Street, Suite 260, Dayton, OH, 45402, during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday).

At all MVRPC public participation meetings, interpreters for hearing impaired individuals or bi-lingual interpreters are available upon request. Requests should be made at least one week prior to the meeting date. Contact MVRPC at (937) 223-6323 or 1-800-750-0750 TTY/TDD to request an interpreter.
