Wright State University’s Department of Human Services invites applications for an Assistant Professor, Clinical Mental Health Counseling position. This individual will provide leadership, instruction, advising, service, and scholarship in the area of counselor education, with a special emphasis in guidance counseling.

Job Duties / Essential Functions:

  • 33% – provide instruction, supervise and advise master’s level counseling students
  • 24% – provide service to the department, university and counseling profession
  • 33% – be actively involved in the scholarly publication of research
  • 10% – assist with program development, assessment, student recruitment, and accreditation activities

Required Qualifications:

  •  Doctorate from a CACREP Counselor Education and Supervision program by position start date.
  • Training must include the areas of clinical mental health counseling.
  • Candidates must be licensable as a Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisor status (PCC) within two years of appointment.
  • Applicants must provide evidence of effective teaching in clinical mental health or a closely related discipline and articulate a clear research agenda.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Two or more years of experience working as a licensed professional counselor with supervisory status.
  • One or more years of experience providing clinical supervision to counseling students/interns.
  • Preferences will be given to applicants who have a record of research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals, documented successful experience instructing and advising in a CACREP accredited counseling program.
  • Applicants having the Independent Marriage and Family Therapy License would be desirable
