On September 14th, 2011, OMB released a memorandum to the federal agencies that requires them to cut the time to pay small businesses in half, from 30 to 15 days. Great news for small federal contractors! On Sept. 27, 2010, President Obama signed into law the Small Business Jobs Act, the most significant piece of small business legislation in over a decade. Gov. John Kasich has appointed Tony Ortiz, Latino community liaison for Wright State University, to the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs. Ortiz’s appointment to a term ending Oct., 7, 2014, was announced Feb. 14. Ortiz said he intends to keep the governor informed of issues affecting Latino communities as well as work on efforts to create jobs around the state both for Latinos and all Ohioans. 929
