TonyOrtiz2Tony Ortiz is secretary of the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs and the Associate Vice-President for Latino Affairs at Wright State University. He also heads the Latino Dream Team, a proactive group of Dayton-area Latino organizations whose mission is to preserve the culture of Latinos and assimilate them into the fabric of the community. The group has taken the lead in addressing education, health care, economic and quality-of-life issues relating to the Latino community.

A native of Lorain, Ohio, Ortiz obtained his bachelor degree in education and athletic training from Bowling Green State University and his master’s in education from Bowling Green. He also is a senior lecturer at Wright State’s College of Education and Human Services.
Ortiz resides in Beavercreek.
